A man named Coalan Smith, drove down the rode in his red pickup. With the pickup was a four horse trailer. In the back of the truck where six dogs. Three adults and three puppy's. Most of them where barking but some relaxed in the back. Coal pulled into a dirt parking lot and parked his pickup close to the barns. He opened the door and stepped out of the truck and walked along to the back of the trailer. Slowly he took everything down and looked at the first horse. It was Storm his young Thoroughbred Irish Draught cross. The colt snorted ad looked at Coal as Coal undid his halter. He backed the colt out of the trailer and lead him to the side of the trailer where he did a quick not and walked back to the trailer. Sage looked over her shoulder and whinnied very softly. "Hey girl." Coal said walking in the trailer a little and taking her lead off the rail.
Sage jumped back out of the trailer and reared up. This was her first ride in the trailer and she was very jumpy now. "Easy girl." Coal said glad he had gloves on. Once Sage was back on all fours he lead her to the side of the trailer and tied her up. He looked at Mouse who stood with Spirit quietly. Coal walked in and took both. He walked them out easily since both had bin in the trailer lots so he was safe. He tied them up and took the two younger horses. Coal walked into the barn and put the foals into there stalls and then went back to take the last two and put them in there stalls.
Coal walked back and closed the back before opening the side where and took out two saddles and put them into the tack room. He came back and took three bridles and four grooming kits and put them away. He took four light horse coats and put them away to. He came back and took a small blue horse blanket and walked back to the barn and into Storms stall. "Hey boy." He said kneeling down and petting the foal. He slid the blanket onto Storm and did up the buckles. "Good boy." He smiled and stood up dusting himself off. He walked out and back to the trailer and closed it up but before that he grabbed a big bag of carrots. Coal took a few out and put them into his horses feed bucket before putting them in his locker and closing it up. He walked out and stopped at Mouses stall. The filly looked up and walked over. She pressed her head into his chest and sighed. Coal patted her neck and smiled.

No, you can't do that. Addie spoke firmly from the center of the ring. She watched as her poor horse was being steered by a complete novice, a brat with tough hands and a poor posture. The girl furrowed her brow, tempted to walk over the the eleven year old girl and sling her off the saddle.
Who says I can't? Madeline Jarrow asked. I just did. Addie hissed through clenched teeth. Madeline shut up after seeing the look she'd just received. Addie didn't know why, but the little blond had insisted she ride ''her horse'' Minnie. Her parents, who supplied a lot of money to the club and were no better than their child, had backed up their daughter. Addie, afraid of the consequences, had subsequently agreed to allowing the girl to ride her horse. She regretted it the moment Madeline hopped in the saddle.
Minnie was lathered in sweat, despite the cool temperature. She was foaming and chomping at the bit. Addie couldn't take it any longer- That's enough for today. With that, she walked to the edged of the ring, gently took her horse by the bridle and looked at Madeline, who jumped off. I wasn't on but an hour- And that's plenty of time for a novice like you. Addie hissed. You can walk yourself out. With that, she turned on her heel and headed to the barn. She wasn't in the best of moods today- and people like Madeline Jarrow struck her last nerve.
I'm sorry Minnie. she kissed the mare on the nose, who in turn sighed. The mare was very forgiving, and seemed only interested in food once she arrived to the cross ties. I'll get you some hay- too early for dinner. You can munch on it while I untack you. Addie said softly as she walked out and down the aisle. On her way to the feed room, a figure caught her eye. It was a guy- and a good looking one at that. She smiled and gave a little wave. Hey. she said in a friendly tone.

Coal turned. He smiled politely and nodded. "Howdy." He said as he rubbed Mouses silky smooth nose. Mouses ears went forward and she let out the quietest whinnie sound ever. Coal smiled softly as he young draft cross and stepped to the side to let her see the other horse and human.

Addie studied the guy and his horse for a moment before being interrupted by Minnie's loud nicker to the new horse. I'm Addie Bates. she said, glancing back at her horses stall. Guess someone's hungry. she thought. And that's Minnie. she said, with a small smile as she leaned against the post.

Coal smiled and nodded. "I'm Coal Smith and this is Mouse." She said holding his hand out under the filly's muzzle. Mouse lipped it thinking treats where there but when she found nothing she went to the back of her stall. She didn't make much noise except for a small snort. Coal ran a hand though brown hair and smiled. He looked over at Storm who had his head hanging over the stall door and let out a loud whinnie. Coal smiled and turned back to Addie. "Its nice to meet you." He said, blue eyes friendly as ever.
